The Durward K. McDaniel First Timer Committee is Pleased to Introduce the 2014 DKM First Timers

For the East:  Carol McGhee of Morgantown, WV, a member of Mountain State Council of the Blind (MSCB).  Carol is a graduate of West Virginia School for the Blind and a former Randolph-Sheppard vendor.  She is editor of her state newsletter, active in Lions and a former vice president of MSCB.  Carol has fond memories of meeting and learning from Durward K. McDaniel while residing in Maryland.  MSCB president Donna Brown describes Carol as energetic, dependable, creative and well organized.

For the West:  Steve Fiksdal of Auburn, WA, a member of Washington Council of the Blind (WCB).  Steve is experienced in real estate brokerage management and leadership training.  Relatively new to blindness, he is active on the local and state levels and was appointed recently to the StateVocational Rehabilitation Council.

An advocate for accessible transportation, Steve has trained small business professionals in relationship marketing.  WCB president Cindy Van Winkle cites Steve's interest and involvement in leadership training as one of his many strengths.

Carol and Steve will be introduced to ACB members in the opening session of the ACB conference and convention, Sunday evening, July 13.  They will be honored Thursday evening, July 17, at the DKM First Timer reception.

Please join us as we welcome Carol McGhee and Steve Fiksdal to the ranks of Durward K. McDaniel First Timers.
